Store Policies

Please note that we are a small business that prides itself in high quality work. As such, we have limited availability for new clients. We ask that if you book an appointment, please be serious about seeking a vintage wedding gown and working with us. If you would like to shop around at various bridal stores, please do so before coming to our store.

Sizing Disclaimer

  • Given the vintage nature of our inventory, the dresses tend to run small. The average waist size is approximately 25 inches.
  • We cannot accommodate try-ons for dresses more than five inches smaller than a client’s measurements without risking damage to the garment. Dresses that are several inches smaller than a client’s measurements not only have smaller waists, but also smaller arm openings, busts, and necklines. Therefore, try-ons are not possible without significant alterations or risking damage.
  • Select inventory that is especially delicate will not be able to be tried on unless the client’s measurements are an exact match to the dress measurements. 
  • If sizing is a concern for you, please browse our website and compare your measurements to the measurements of the dresses you like to get a better idea of the inventory that will be available for you to try on.

Dress Alterations and Fittings

  • Though we offer alterations, you are welcome to buy a dress off the rack and take it elsewhere for alterations for greater convenience in time or location. 
  • Given the vintage and delicate nature of our inventory, please note that there is a limit to how much alteration and expansion is possible. The extent to which alteration is possible is unique to each dress and can be discussed during the appointment.
  • Alterations are not included in the dress price and alteration costs depend on the amount of work which must be done. Altering vintage gowns is very time consuming as they are more delicate than standard clothing so prices reflect this time and labor. 
  • Alterations begin about 2-3 months before the wedding. We manage alterations for hundreds of brides, so this timeline is important to ensure we are able to have all our clients’ dresses completed on time.
  • Fittings may only be scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays. If you would like to work with us for alterations, it is required that you be available to come in person on these days. No exceptions will be made.
  • If you would like us to alter your dress, you must be available to return for 1-3 fittings to ensure satisfaction.

Appointment Procedures

  • If you are running late, we offer a 15 minute courtesy wait time contingent upon prior communication. If we do not receive communication that you will be arriving late, the appointment will be canceled after 15 minutes. Our schedule is often booked to maximum capacity. In the event of a cancellation, we will be unable to reschedule within the same day.
  • Most of our inventory must be put on over the head. Please do not wear foundation, heavy makeup, or jewelry as this can damage the dresses.
  • Please do not wear heavy body lotions, oils, deodorants, etc. to protect the integrity of the dresses.
  • Please limit your party to 6 guests. Due to the delicate nature of our inventory, please do not bring children.
  • Please do not bring an outside wedding dress to your appointment. We will not accept any outside dresses for alterations or restoration.
